Astra PRO Ubuntu 16.04 no devices found

We’re migrating from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04, and we can’t seem to get the Astra Pro running.

We have no problem with the regular Astra, just the Pro.

I have downloaded the SDK from here: http://www.orbbec3d.net/Tools_SDK_OpenNI/2-Linux.zip

Have run install.sh as root, and compiled the SimpleViewer example, then I run it and get the following:

~/OpenNI-Linux-x64-2.3/Samples/SimpleViewer/Bin/x64-Release# whoami
root
~/OpenNI-Linux-x64-2.3/Samples/SimpleViewer/Bin/x64-Release# ./SimpleViewer
After initialization:

SimpleViewer: Device open failed:
DeviceOpen using default: no devices found

This is the output of lsusb:

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 2b04:c006
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 2bc5:0501
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

No other applications are using or attempting to use it.

You may try the new Astra SDK.

This works fine with Astra Pro in Ubuntu 16.04 and with both RGB and Depth streams.

cheers,
