I'm not used to do this kind of introductions but I will try to do my best.
I just got my first camera today and I am really pleased that the testing/installation took only a few minutes on my linux (Manjaro/Arch Linux). So I looked out for more info and found this forum and I will present what I do...
Who am I ?
I am working in Agumented Reality (AR) for many years now, first as a student at University during my master's degree, then my PhD topic was on interaction with Spatial Augmented Reality (SAR), it started when the first kinect was released.
Many years and development passed by, and now I create my own start-up company to professionalize and industrialize Spatial Augmented Reality.
RealityTech's SDK for spatial augmented reality.
We build hardware and software (PapARt) to create the next generation of interactive projection. We try to follow open source principles and be business friendly.
We are currently developping a dedicated hardware and already propose a prototype using off the shelf hardware (camera, pc, projector) and hand-made / fablab made assembly.
Community and developper focus.
I mostly work in Java, using native libraries with JavaCPP and I participated to the libfreenect presets, and built the librealsense and libfreenect2 presets. All of theses are availble and I try to provide support when required.
I work at the developper / user level with Processing. I did not find the Processing library advertised on the develop page. I will build my own bindings for Processing and PapARt, and I can extend/contribute to the existing one if it exists.
The PapARt SDK, one can use any depth/RGBD camera to run the applications. I will add support for Orbbec camera in the coming weeks.
