is it possible to have an Astra S camera show up to windows as a webcamera and use it generically?
i have the drivers installed and “Orbbec close Depth sensor” shows up in device manager but not as a windows Camera.
Astra S has both OpenNI IR cameras and RGB cameras, so they need OpenNI library to support it, which is not default on Win system. Other Orbbec cameras with UVC RGB can be used as windows cameras directly.
ok. Im no coder but i dont understand why the windows provided driver doesnt work for it.
Im not a linux slouch so i can use it on a linux machine. What does it take to make it work on Ubuntu?
Ubuntu system is a different file system to open the USB as a ‘file’. And the required libraries are more flexible.
