Is the Sync Hub Required for Daisy-Chained Multi-Camera Setups?

We’re using multiple Femto Mega cameras for a project and I was confused as to whether or not you need the Sync Hub if you can daisy-chain the cameras sync cables together as shown in this diagram found on the Femto Mega documentation:

We avoided ordering one initially under the assumption that this was the case, but evidently, we discovered that the secondary camera(s) don’t seem to recognize the primary on start-up after following the recommended setup directions. The hexagonal sync hub on the products page is listed as two separate products – “Sync Hub Dev Star” and “Sync Hub Dev Daisy Chain” – even though they seem to operate exactly the same. Does anyone have some insight into what the daisy chain setup is suggesting accomplishing and what difference there is between the two products? Thanks.

You have to have a sync hub for multi camera sync solution.
Refer the docs:

After spending some time developing with cameras and sync hardware, I’m now wondering: is there any existing Orbbec software that merges multiple camera perspectives or outputs a single set of Body Tracking User IDs? The documentation suggests that if the cameras are calibrated and synchronized properly, that they can help with occlusions, but I’m not finding any executables in the SDK that support such a feature.

I’m trying to output the data to Touch Designer to manipulate and manage the Body Tracking data, but I’m not seeing a way that the KinectAzure CHOP can take data from both cameras at once. I want to verify there’s not already a tool that will fuse the two camera’s data before developing my own or looking elsewhere.

Thanks for any help you’re able to offer.
