I just spent several hours debugging an issue with my astra pro – I’d been experimenting with it several months ago, then had to stop for another project, then came back and nothing was working. Not my compiled example apps, not the precompiled demo apps, everything just gave me a blank screen or crashed. The astra reported initialization as SUCCESS and you could create and start streams, you just would never receive anything.
I eventually tracked this down – at some point while I was away from it, the Orbbec depth driver got removed from my system. Partly what took this so long to track down is that the RGB driver is there, and the camera works fine as a webcam, so I assumed everything was installed and working.
Point of all this: It would be super nice if the initialization recognized when drivers were not installed or working and reported this, would have saved me a lot of time.
