Orbbec Pulsar SL450 LiDAR Network Configuration

I’m reaching out with a question about the Orbbec Pulsar SL450 LiDAR and its network configuration.

We’re currently evaluating the sensor for a larger installation. Overall the device has been working well in testing, but we’ve run into a concern related to the network addressing.

From what we can see in the documentation and in our testing, the device appears to operate within the 192.168.0.xxx subnet. We tried changing the IP using the Orbbec Visualizer software , but the change did not appear to take effect.

Before we move forward with more testing, we were hoping you could help clarify a few things:

  • Is it possible to configure the SL450 to use an IP address outside of the 192.168.0.xxx range?
  • If so, what is the recommended way to change the IP (Visualizer, SDK/API command, firmware update, etc.)?
  • Does the device support DHCP , or is it limited to static addressing?
  • Are there any configuration commands or firmware options available that allow the network range to be modified?

This is important for our deployment planning. Our current design could involve around 80 LiDAR devices communicating with roughly 20 servers , so being limited to a fixed 192.168.0.xxx subnet would create some challenges with how our networks are normally structured.

If the subnet cannot be changed, it would be helpful for us to know that as well so we can evaluate possible workarounds or alternative hardware.

Any guidance or documentation you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help.
