Strange glitch in SimpleBodyViewer

Greetings to the community

I have recently acquired an Orbbec Astra device and I am installing it on an Ubuntu 16.04 running on an UP board microprocessor. I need the device to perform bodytracking, and I have installed both the OpenNI SDK and Astra SDK 2.0.9 from https://orbbec3d.com/develop/. Upon checking the demos, it seems that the SimpleBodyViewer does not seem to function correctly, showing a glitched feed as shown below:

Any ideas on what could be occurring?

It looks somewhat like a misaligned sensor - we have seem similar issues on one device after it was dropped.
If its a brand new purchase I would try directly talking to customer support.
